Advanced Medical Product Firmware Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to lead embedded software development for advanced medical products. We are seeking a senior firmware engineer with expertise in low-level programming, hardware-software integration, and technical leadership.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and developing firmware compliant with IEC 62304. They will also troubleshoot and optimize embedded systems, lead product success through design and field performance improvements, and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop firmware solutions for advanced medical products
- Lead technical projects from conception to delivery
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
We are looking for an expert in C programming with proven product development and technical leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, as well as experience in managing multiple projects and mentoring others.
Desirable Skills- FPGA development (Verilog)
- C++/C# programming
- Python/Perl scripting
- Experience in medical devices and control systems
- Biology/anatomy background
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. A postgraduate degree is preferred. The successful candidate should have a track record of successful product launches and IP contributions.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is based in Cork's Little Island facility. Lab work involves high-voltage systems and occasional travel.
