
Bios Firmware Expert

As a member of the Research and Development team, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and debugging firmware and embedded system software that interfaces with storage operating systems. The Firmware R&D team focuses on competitive market and customer requirements, supportability, technology advances, product quality, product cost, and time-to-market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop firmware for server platforms using UEFI BIOS/GRUB, Linux secure boot, device drivers/networking stack, memory model on CPU architectures.
- Work with various subsystems on Intel x86, AMD x86, ARM architectures, and peripherals such as PCIe, SATA, USB, I2C, sensors, SPI, Flash, DRAM.
- Utilize C/C++, Python/Shell programming, Windows, and/or Linux OS/kernel debugging skills.
- Collaborate on platform infrastructure: Device drivers (Ethernet, FPGA drivers, security modules) on Linux systems.
- Participate in BIOS exposure and development.
Additional responsibilities include reading datasheets/schematics, developing drivers, ACPI code accordingly, debugging skills, and experience with hardware-firmware co-design and board bring-up experience with SoCs and/or Customer Reference Platforms.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills, great analysis and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in firmware development.
- Experience with Linux/POSIX programming and embedded system development.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a master's degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
- Proven record of meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
