Employment Law Specialist - Employee Relations and Policy

This is a key role in our HR team, focusing on employment law and employee relations.

Job Description:

Summary

As an Employment Law Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on employment law matters to the Company, Heads of HR, Business Partners and Retailers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to and supporting on all employment law queries across Musgrave in ROI.
  • Leading the development and review of all policies, ensuring they are legally compliant and updated to reflect employment legislation changes.
  • Developing, reviewing and standardising contracts of employment across Musgrave.
  • Creating the compliance agenda and managing its implementation across Musgrave.
  • Managing the eligibility to work processes across the business.
  • Supporting internal ER processes, as required.
  • Drafting, reviewing and/or amending letters/documents and third-party submissions.
  • Preparing and presenting at the annual retail and internal HR Forums.
  • Delivering webinars internally and with retailers on ER and employment law matters.
  • Engaging with retailers through various mechanisms.
  • Managing the HR Support Dashboards for SuperValu, Centra and Daybreak.
  • Managing the annual Retail Pay and Hours Survey for SuperValu, Centra and Daybreak.
  • Engaging with policy/regulatory matters as part of consultation processes.

What we're looking for:

  • A background in law, ideally having practiced as a solicitor or barrister for 3 or more years in (or including) employment law.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • An in-depth knowledge of employment law in RoI.
