Instrumentation Calibration Specialist

The role of a calibration specialist involves executing calibrations of utilities instrumentation and process/laboratory instrumentation in the field according to site schedules and procedures. This includes performing daily tasks such as execution of calibrations, troubleshooting issues with instrumentation, completing site documentation, and liaising with maintenance teams and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execution of calibrations as per site schedule and site procedures is essential for maintaining accurate data.
  • Troubleshooting problems with instrumentation as necessary ensures minimal downtime and maintains productivity.
  • Completing site documentation before and after work tasks helps track progress and facilitates communication among team members.
  • Liaising with shift/day maintenance team on all instrumentation calibration issues promotes collaboration and resolves issues efficiently.
  • Participating in appropriate training and risk assessments enhances knowledge and skills, ensuring a safe working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 6 months technical experience in instrumentation calibration is required.
  • National Craft Certificate or equivalent in mechanical or electrical discipline is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and documentation skills are essential for effective collaboration and record-keeping.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry and building management systems is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems and computerized calibration management system environments is beneficial.
