About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to join our team at Hibernia Home Care. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about caring for others and wants to make a real difference in the lives of our clients.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be patient, empathetic and have a passion for caring for others. They will also possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality care and support to clients
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Providing prompting with prescribed medication
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks
- Light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, and laundry
- Assisting clients with mobility and transfers
- Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a care-giving role
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent - must have 2 modules 'Care Skills' and 'Care of the Older Person' at a minimum (If you do not hold these qualifications, please take a look at our Hibernia Academy)
- Full driving license and access to a car is desirable, but not essential depending on location
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
