Learning Disability Specialist

This is a part-time role that involves working with clients who have diverse needs, including Learning Disability, Autism, Mental Health, Physical or Sensory Disability. The ideal candidate will be able to provide support and guidance to students/service users.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Enable students/service users to identify their learning, social, emotional, and cognitive needs for Individual Action Plans or Person Centred Planning meetings.
  • Provide supervision and training to ensure Rehabilitation Officers/Trainee Psychologists/Assistant Psychologists can provide evidence-based interventions and support.
  • Design and deliver training on education, rehabilitation, disability management, and relevant areas to staff.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, engage in crisis management, and maintain professional standards.
Requirements:
  • A recognised professional qualification in Psychology to Master or Doctorate level.
  • Chartered membership (or eligible) with the Psychological Society of Ireland or British Psychological Society.
  • At least 3 years' experience in Learning Disability/Autism/Mental Health/Physical or Sensory Disability.
  • Understanding of Recovery Approach and Person Centred Planning an advantage.
