Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy large-scale multimodal machine learning models to drive business growth and improve precision and recall of core metrics.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning research and leverage these findings to drive innovation in our Trust & Safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to productionize ML solutions, including developing robust systems for training, deploying, and monitoring ML models at scale.
  • Leverage existing ML infrastructure and partnerships with platform teams to build scalable and modular ML systems.
  • Design and implement experiments to measure marketplace effects and optimize ML solutions.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
  • Work closely with product managers, ML engineers, full-stack engineers, and designers to measure and improve our ads marketplace while driving value to our sellers.
Requirements
  • An M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields, and/or 5+ years of practical machine learning experience.
  • A proven track record of applying statistical techniques to address real-world problems.
  • Expertise in one of the following areas: text classification, image classification, multimodal machine learning, LLMs/genAI, active learning/human-in-the-loop, reinforcement learning.
  • Experience training, deploying, monitoring, debugging, and iterating on production machine learning systems.
  • Ability to create clear requirements and lead teams from design through to delivery.
  • Strong coding skills, with an emphasis on maintainability and testability.
  • A focus on delivering high-quality solutions that prioritize end-user needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and containerization technologies.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance regulations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
