Clinical Technologist/Radiographer Nuclear Medicine Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within Nuclear Medicine where you will be performing and assisting with a broad range of activities associated with the use of radioactive substances in the investigation & treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The performance of radionuclide imaging and organ uptake measurements (including non-routine and complex investigations), and the quantitative analysis of image data.
  • The performance of in-vitro studies including GFR tests and the quantitative analysis of the data.
  • The preparation of data for clinical reporting.
  • The supervision and training of junior technologist staff.
  • The dispensing, assay and administration of radiopharmaceuticals including diagnostic and therapy doses.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • The preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and radio-labelled blood products as required.
  • The provision of technical expertise in relation to the research and development programmes of the Department, and in the evaluation of new procedures and equipment.
  • The user-maintenance of nucleonic equipment for radionuclide imaging and organ uptake measurements, and the acquisition of data for the calibration of such equipment.

Nuclear Medicine Career Opportunities

  • Degree in Physics, Radiography or Applied Physics; OR Diploma of the College of Radiographers AND 3 years relevant experience in Healthcare Science (which must include Nuclear Medicine)
  • Membership eligibility of the registers of Clinical Technologists; OR HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
