Job Description

The Investment Operations Analyst role is responsible for providing back/middle office support to internal and external stakeholders. This includes oversight of investment activities performed on behalf of the company, as well as governance relating to external manager oversight.

The successful candidate will report into the Head of Operations and work closely with multiple teams including Compliance and AIG Treasury. The position requires project work related to the dynamic requirements of the business and the investments group.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of Blackrock DSS team IBOR reconciliations output, including monitoring of Cash and Asset Exceptions. Ensures escalation where required after review of key fields such as root cause. Prepares and delivers weekly, monthly, and annual reports to support adherence to the established control framework.
  • Maintenance of PMF workflow tool to ensure requests are actioned in a timely manner and support adherence to the established control framework.
  • Supports the monthly pricing process for relevant securities on Aladdin.
  • Assists in the monitoring and maintenance of the FAS157 levelling process.
  • Serves as the single point of contact for Portfolio Managers, CIO team, and Insurance Companies in respect to investment operations queries.
  • Oversees externally managed portfolios, including an annual review of investment performance and operational performance for all external managers. Recommends whether the manager should be retained or a new manager sought.
  • Manages the delivery of investment committee objectives on behalf of the General Insurance International CIO team. Ensures IPGs are reaffirmed, Charters are reaffirmed, and an annual self-assessment is completed.
  • Assists in the management and delivery of project initiatives as requested by the General Insurance CIO team, including Aladdin implementation and third-party outsourcing.

Qualifications
  • Degree in business, finance or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in an investments or asset management environment, ideally with a focus on operations, governance, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of both front and back office processes within an investments business.
  • Robust investments and business knowledge, with expertise in fixed income asset class support and corporate governance structures.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with multiple internal stakeholders and partner on key business initiatives.
  • Experience dealing with senior managers, coordinating deliverables, prioritizing tasks, and achieving objectives.
  • Expertise in business intelligence tools, SQL, VBA, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
