Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity (DR/BC) Lead

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to take on the role of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity (DR/BC) Lead.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that critical IT services remain resilient, recoverable, and secure in the face of unexpected disruptions.

The DR/BC Lead will be responsible for planning, testing, and continuously improving enterprise-level DR and BCM frameworks, in partnership with internal teams and external service providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities across all IT systems and services.
  • Collaborate with business owners, IT teams, and third-party vendors to develop, test, and improve DR and BCM plans.
  • Maintain and update Business Impact Assessments (BIA), Risk Impact Assessments (RIA), and Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
  • Plan and coordinate regular DR testing exercises, including data centre failover and cloud platform recovery.
  • Ensure DR and BCM processes align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions for staff on DR and BCM responsibilities.
  • Assist in responding to major incidents, ensuring business services are restored quickly and efficiently.
  • Monitor evolving risks and technology trends to recommend improvements to resilience measures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in a dedicated Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity role.
  • 5+ years of overall experience in IT or IT risk-related functions.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-level DR testing (such as data centre or cloud platform failover).
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work with both technical and business teams.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and managed service providers.
