Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Motor Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting department, you will be responsible for evaluating new business opportunities and servicing existing accounts.

About the Role
  • Underwriting Expertise: Utilize your technical underwriting skills to provide support to our motor underwriting function, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal governance, including audits, peer reviews, and risk assessments, while maintaining underwriting policies, documents, and processes in line with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Market Expertise & Relationships: Develop market expertise with knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes, building and maintaining relationships with capacity partners and key brokers to support new business and retention efforts.
Your Qualifications
  • Qualifications: Hold a recognized insurance qualification (e.g., FCII, ACII, or CIP) or relevant third-level academic qualification.
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Commercial Motor Insurance market in Ireland, including insurance practices and procedures associated with this class of business.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of previous Commercial Motor (HGV's) underwriting experience, with previous experience in managing a scheme/portfolio being desirable.
  • Skills/Other: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to manage complex and highly confidential information.
