Key Roles for an Instrumentation Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior/Principal Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Dublin.

Job Description:

  • Lead various stages of design from concept to completion, working closely with multidiscipline project teams.
  • Analyse complex engineering problems and provide effective solutions.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate level instrumentation engineers.
  • Manage bid, approval, and construction issue instrumentation packages efficiently.
  • Extensive contact with clients, vendors, and project field personnel.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leading an Instrumentation Team on various projects as part of a multidiscipline project team.
  2. Analysing complex engineering problems and offering effective solutions.
  3. Providing support to fee and capital budget proposals as required.
  4. Assembling and managing bid, approval, and construction issue Instrumentation packages in an efficient and lean manner.
  5. Mentoring Instrumentation engineering staff at junior and intermediate levels, as required.
  6. Checking other Instrumentation engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertaking peer reviews.

Requirements:

  • Third Level Degree in Instrumentation Engineering (NFQ Level 8) or similar discipline.
  • 10+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design.
  • Demonstrable advanced experience in the complete suite of Instrumentation engineering design services including Instrument Index, I/O Lists/ Allocation, Instrument Specifications/ Data Sheets, Layouts, Cable Containment, Block Diagrams, System Architecture, ATEX / Hazardous Areas.
  • Proficient in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) & digital project delivery is an advantage.
