Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead our Environmental Health and Safety team. As a key member, you will provide technical guidance to the site and contribute to ongoing projects that ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support SMEs in General Safety and High-Risk Work Programs.
  • Collaborate with experts in Environmental Programs (Air, Water, Waste).
  • Offer safety support for new projects and ongoing initiatives.
  • Participate in local safety teams, audits, inspections, incident investigations, and other programs as required.
  • Represent the EHS team in risk assessments, change management impact assessments, training delivery, and contractor management.
  • Evaluate and audit EHS processes and systems against global standards.
  • Present weekly reports on KPIs aligned with EHS objectives and targets.
  • Demonstrate leadership in promoting a strong EHS culture across the site.
Key Requirements:
  • +7 years of experience in EHS, Engineering, or Operations in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, petrochemical, or process-related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish H&S and environmental legislation and regulations.
  • Experience in High-Risk Work programs (Electrical safety, LOTO, Hotwork, confined space) and contractor management is beneficial.
  • Able to maintain focus on key goals and priorities while analyzing details to facilitate problem resolution and project success.
  • Proven track record of success in the EHS sector.
  • Experience supporting multiple activities and projects.
  • Ability to manage and implement change.
  • Strong influence across departments and levels of the organization.
  • 'Safety First' mindset, desiring to protect employees and the environment.
