Environmental Health and Safety ProfessionalJob Description

As an Environmental Health and Safety Professional, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of employees and communities in Bulk Chemical Manufacturing.

You will be part of a team responsible for developing and implementing site-wide environmental, health & safety programmes. You will work closely with colleagues to monitor compliance with legislative regulations, maintain records, and ensure all activities adhere to established guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Environmental Science or another relevant 3rd level discipline, ideally with 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments, preferably within Pharma, Med-Dev, Food, and Beverage Production.

You will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and possess excellent organisational and time management skills. The ability to become familiar with site processes and procedures, as well as technical competence to understand and review safety-critical and environmental-critical aspects of each process/procedure, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and monitor site-wide environmental, health & safety programmes
  • Support the evolving site EHSS integrated management system
  • Perform risk assessments for operations, equipment, and tasks, implementing associated risk controls where necessary
  • Work closely with other EHS professionals to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Support the Director of EHS to maintain full compliance with HAS, OSHA, EPA, and corporate requirements
  • Increase staff awareness of safety through promotion, training, and engagement
  • Conduct inspections, internal assessments, and recommend corrective measures to prevent hazards
  • Lead EHS projects to completion and provide guidance to accident investigations
  • Maintain administrative filing systems and develop related training programs
  • Ensure accurate reporting and investigation of EHS incidents
  • Monitor environmental performance and report to management and regulatory agencies
  • Attend daily operational meetings to drive EHS initiatives
Requirements:
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification in Environmental Science or EHS discipline
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in Pharma, Med-Dev, Food, and Beverage Production
  • Proven experience in Pharma or BRC regulated manufacturing is a necessity
  • Strong understanding of EHS regulations and site environmental and safety management systems
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
