Occupational Therapist Role Overview

The role of the Occupational Therapist will be to work in a temporary contract with a leading acute hospital organization. The position will be based in Naas General Hospital, with a caseload focused on general medical and surgical wards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in the acute care setting
  • Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and facilitating discharge
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care delivery
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding rehabilitation and adaptive techniques
  • Participate in case conferences and contribute to the development of care plans
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with hospital policies

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with CORU
  • At least 1 year's experience working as an Occupational Therapist in acute hospital settings, particularly in General Medical and Surgical wards
  • Resident in Ireland and legal right to work in Ireland without restriction
  • Willing to undergo Garda Vetting
  • International Police Clearance (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16)
