Job Description

The Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance within the Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharmaceutical sectors.

  • Ensure adherence to statutory regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate environmental controls and guarantee IPC license compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with external EHS agencies, such as the EPA, to ensure environmental license compliance.
  • Coordinate site environmental waste management and drive continuous improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Battery, WEEE, and Waste Packaging Directives for Europe.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.
  • Implement and update EHS control procedures as necessary.
  • Develop training programs and provide EHS training.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or health & safety (Level 8).
  • Postgraduate degree in Health & Safety (Level 9).
  • Related pharmaceutical/biosafety industry experience is required, including experience working in a regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing EHS teams within the department or as part of a program initiative.
  • Leading Root Cause investigations.
  • Attention to detail and sound scientific problem-solving skills are essential for this role, particularly in an Occupational Health and Safety position in a manufacturing or process industry.
  • A strategic mindset, envisioning future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies, is vital.
