Data Manager Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Manager to join our organization. As a vital member of the team, you will play a key role in building animal data models and working closely with various stakeholders to explore product data on our platform.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing data models around animals, defining and enforcing data standards, and collaborating with marketing, veterinary professionals, researchers, data engineers, and data management teams. Your expertise will also include overseeing data quality, detecting and addressing issues in animal health records, and providing support on best practices and standards for data governance in animal health.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data models revolving around animals
  • Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and classification schemes
  • Collaborate with marketing, veterinary professionals, researchers, data engineers, and data management teams to identify data-related requirements and ensure alignment with animal health objectives
  • Oversee data quality and take initiative in detecting and addressing issues or irregularities in animal health records and datasets
  • Develop and maintain data documentation and metadata management procedures for diagnostic, research, and health-related animal data
  • Perform data profiling, analysis, and validation to maintain the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of animal health information

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of proven hands-on experience working as a Data Steward, Data Manager, Data Custodian, or similar role
  • Experience harvesting data from ERP and CRM systems such as SAP and Salesforce, with a proven track record of building complex customer data models in international corporations
  • Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Information Systems Management or a related field
  • Proficiency in data quality, cataloging, modeling, analysis and metadata management
  • Experience with data management tools and technologies, such as Collibra, Immuta, and Data Bricks
