Relief CSSD Technician

This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to assist in the production of sterilized medical devices.

Key responsibilities include collecting used items, cleaning equipment, decontaminating devices, assembling and packaging surgical instruments, and distributing them according to departmental standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

An instruction and education program will be provided on-site regarding relevant guidelines and duties. Confidentiality of patient information and hospital data is essential.

About This Role:

  • Maintain accurate records in line with departmental policy
  • Decontaminate used devices using mechanical and manual methods
  • Inspect and test devices for discrepancies or faults
  • Operate mechanical processing equipment including washer disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers
  • Assist in training new staff members and keep up-to-date with new practices
  • Perform daily checks on autoclaves and washer disinfectors as per HSE standards
  • Rotate through each department area as defined by management
