Loan Officer Job Summary

As a Loan Officer, you will originate loan products and develop referral sources to generate new mortgage lending business. You will work with customers to understand their needs and provide guidance on loan options.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview applicants and request specific information for mortgage loan application
  • Act as primary contact with all parties on individual loans originated from application to closing
  • Counsel and pre-qualify potential home buyers, complete applications, and obtain necessary support documents
  • Oversee the loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms
  • Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan
  • Collaborate with underwriting to ensure all questions are answered and/or to resolve mortgage-related problems
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with minimum of 1-3 years of residential real estate experience
  • NMLS license required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within time constraints
  • Intermediate level of computer skills, including the ability to function in a windows environment
  • Ability to be results-oriented with sound judgment, supervise and manage the workflow of subordinate(s) through superior leadership skills, establish credibility and be decisive

Additional Requirements:

  • Familiarity with mortgage regulations and industry standards
  • Proficiency in software applications relevant to mortgage lending
