Job Opportunity: Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and meticulous engineer to join our design team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of customised engineering solutions.

You will be based on-site and report directly to the Head of Design, collaborating closely with multiple departments including Production, R&D, and Quality to deliver high-standard, customised engineering solutions.

  • Prepare technical specifications, CAD drawings, and engineering documentation for customer approval and internal use.
  • Direct and coordinate the manufacture of prototype units.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to identify opportunities for process and product improvements.
  • Optimise mechanical design to meet customer specifications and performance targets.
  • Produce clear manufacturing instructions and support factory operations to ensure designs are accurately implemented.
  • Maintain and update all relevant technical documentation and specifications.
  • Act as a key liaison between engineering and production teams to ensure quality and efficiency in manufacturing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with design software such as CREO (or similar CAD tools).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial design environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of internal standards, product conformity, and quality control metrics.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel for business as required.
  • A full clean driving licence is preferable.
