Lead Social Housing Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to oversee social housing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of social housing projects, leading teams of contractors and consultants in project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and compliance with building regulations and safety standards.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee all construction aspects, ensuring adherence to building regulations, safety standards, and social value commitments, including procurement processes, contract negotiation, and site inspections.
  • Monitor project finances, enforcing cost control measures and reporting budget variances for approvals.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the quality of work and adherence to project specifications.
  • Manage project documentation, contracts, permits, and progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including residents, local authorities, funders, and internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in construction methods and sustainability practices.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager.
  • Previous experience working in the residential or social housing sector.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, building regulations, and social value principles.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in construction software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • A valid Construction Safety Passport (CSCS) or equivalent qualification.
  • A passion for social housing development and a commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
