Project Engineer - Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Opportunity in Cork

This is a fantastic chance to work in a state-of-the-art facility, contributing to the development of innovative treatments for rare diseases.

As a Project Engineer - E&I, you will be responsible for coordinating and participating in design, construction, and commissioning activities on site.

Key responsibilities include leading projects for facility modifications and capital equipment procurement, assisting the Capital Projects Manager with planning and tracking, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure clear communication.

Additional duties may include generating and executing Commissioning & Qualification activities, reviewing turnover documentation from vendors, and supervising vendor engineers and contractors during engineering works.

Successful candidates will possess experience in capital project execution, extensive knowledge in E&I design and installation, and a strong background in pharmaceutical or biotech sectors.

The ideal candidate will also have excellent team-working skills and be proficient in Fire Alarm, Access Control, Lighting, BMS, and general services design and handover.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and participate in design, construction, and C&Q activities on site.
  • Lead projects for facility modifications and capital equipment procurement.
  • Assist the Capital Projects Manager in the planning and tracking of activities.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders on the projects to ensure clear communication between all parties.
  • Provide technical process support to the project team throughout the project life cycle.
  • Generate and execute Commissioning & Qualification activities if there is a requirement.
  • Generate change controls on Electronic QMS and drive their closure in a timely manner.
  • Review turnover documentation from vendors.
  • Supervise direct vendor engineers and contractors during engineering works on single or multiple capital projects.
  • Use Permit to Work system or other safety systems of work to control engineering activities.
  • Manage capital and cost benefit analysis.
  • Participate in HAZOP and design reviews.
  • Generate and check project engineering deliverables such as technical specifications, procurement submittals, and handover documentation.
  • Requirements:
  • Experience in capital project execution and delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge in E&I Design and installation.
  • Experience working in Pharmaceutical/Biotech sectors.
  • Experience working in large teams.
  • Proficiency in Fire Alarm, Access Control, Lighting, BMS, and general services design and handover.
