Our organisation seeks a talented individual to lead technical procurement projects from start to finish. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys managing complex tasks and working with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the project management of new aircraft BFE milestones, ensuring all on-dock dates are met to support timely aircraft delivery to customers.
  • Vendor Relationships: They will represent procurement in key meetings, such as Initial Technical Coordination Meetings (ITCMs) and First Article Inspections (FAIs), to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Cabin Upgrades: The candidate will oversee strategic vendor and manufacturer relationships to secure timely equipment availability and alignment with aircraft delivery schedules.
  • Budgeting: They will provide leadership in sourcing and budgeting for cabin upgrades and reconfigurations, ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
  • Industry Representation: The role requires representing the organisation at industry conferences and milestone meetings, with flexibility to travel frequently, including at short notice.
  • Negotiations: The successful candidate will drive negotiations and evaluate pricing for critical equipment, including seats, galleys, and in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
  • Accountability: They will oversee comprehensive budget management and finalise aircraft accounting, ensuring financial accountability and project success.
  • Team Development: The candidate will develop and implement General Terms Agreements (GTAs) with suppliers, aligning procurement strategies to meet delivery schedules and objectives.
  • Mentorship: They will mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a high-performing procurement team.
Requirements:
  • Focused Individual: A focused, analytical and resourceful individual with excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in IT, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with procurement software is advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement processes within the aircraft leasing, airline, or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sectors.
  • Procurement Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of new aircraft Buyer-Furnished Equipment (BFE) milestones and procurement workflows.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, consistently meeting deadlines and achieving targeted results.
  • Contract Management: In-depth knowledge of General Terms Agreements (GTAs) and a proven ability to enforce supplier deliverables effectively.
  • Communication: Strong and independent minded with the ability to express views with conviction, showing bravery in confronting established thought.
  • Summarisation: Ability to distil complex messages into key takeaways to support management decision making, summarising findings with impact, putting forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and audiences.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable of developing and maintaining positive business relationships to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Travel: Willingness and an ability to travel extensively worldwide.
