Family Support Professional

The Family Support Worker will be responsible for enabling families to improve their circumstances as identified through assessment, referral and agreed outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Work with families to provide a direct service while also facilitating access to external interventions that support family functioning.
- Collaborate with other agencies to ensure needs are met and identify Meitheals for families ensuring their needs are addressed through an interagency approach.
- Facilitate parenting programmes both in groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- Maintain contact with parents and professionals via phone or meetings as required.
- Work towards the most positive outcome for the child and family in line with national policy, legislation and best practice.
- Submit grant applications to various departments and funding agencies in collaboration with relevant staff.
- Oversee applications for new developments, including capital developments and programme initiatives, in consultation with the Project Manager and other staff.
- Undertake administrative tasks including writing reports to funding agencies and ensuring documentation is complete.
- Ensure the building meets health and safety standards and deal with correspondence as necessary.
- Develop clear policies and procedures within the afterschool project and ensure adherence to these policies.
- Register children on the National Childcare System.
- Coordinate events and promotions for the work, programmes and services within the Child and Family Services department.
- Represent the project positively in all dealings with the local community and other agencies.
