Power Station Operations Role

The Power Station Operations team plays a vital part in the efficient and safe operation of power plants. The team is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the power plant, adhering to strict safety, environmental, commercial, and chemical requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Safety First: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plants, as well as the safety of all personnel on site.
  • Carry out day-to-day activities such as monitoring, assessing, testing, and operating plant equipment.
  • Operate and maintain the power plant in line with strict safety, environmental, commercial, and chemical requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental obligations.
  • Support the shift operations team in day-to-day activities.
  • Maintain a shift operations record and submit reports as required by the Shift Team Leader and/or Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procedures and systems for plant operations, testing, and related activities.
Key Requirements:
  • Process Experience: Essential experience in process/operations.
  • Ability to analyze, process, and control information to appropriately respond to plant operational conditions.
  • Flexibility and availability to provide shift cover when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A craft qualification in Control & Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Fitting.
  • Relevant Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) tickets and qualifications.
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
  • Awareness of Safe System of Work.
  • Contractor support/supervision experience.
  • Experience using Maintenance/Ops Management Systems.
