Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Telecoms Specialist to design and develop our telecoms network, including solutions for new products and services.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing the telecom's transmission network.
  • They will also develop technology roadmaps and complete tenders for telecoms equipment and services.
  • Drafting and maintaining engineering and business-relevant processes will be an essential part of this role.
  • The Telecoms Specialist will provide technical support to the sales team.
  • Analyzing customer business requirements and managing supplier contracts and relationships will also be a key responsibility.
  • Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota and providing engineering support during priority incidents will be required.
Key Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience is required for this role.
  • Applicants should have a detailed understanding of Layer 1 transport, Carrier Ethernet, Data Networking, WAN/LAN technologies and networks.
  • Extensive experience in DWDM ROADM optical transmission, Layer 2 & SDH networks is also essential.
  • A good understanding and experience of performance management requirements, tools and systems associated with such networks is required.
  • Experience of NMS (Network Management Systems) associated with such networks is also necessary.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python is a must.
  • Certification in fibre characterisation is highly desirable.
  • Reasonable working knowledge of Layer 3 networks is also required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain customer relationships are essential for this role.
