Speech and Language Therapist Job Description

At our healthcare organisation, we're seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with individuals who require support with their communication and swallowing needs.

Job Summary:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you'll be responsible for assessing and treating clients with speech and language disorders. This will involve working with clients in clinics, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' speech and language abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address clients' communication and swallowing needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and psychologists, to ensure holistic care
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and caregivers to educate them on strategies and techniques to support communication and swallowing
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress and treatment outcomes

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a related field
  • Registration as a Speech and Language Therapist with CORU
  • Experience working with individuals with communication and swallowing disorders
  • Strong clinical and assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
