Procurement Strategy Leader

As a key member of the procurement team, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with business objectives.

  • You will track market dynamics, industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to inform procurement decisions and drive value creation.
  • Manage product ranges within the portfolio, ensuring a competitive, innovative, and customer-focused assortment that meets or exceeds sales targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on demand, pricing, and competitiveness, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Balance supply chain constraints (capacity, lead times, delivery schedules) to ensure materials are available on time and in full, minimizing stockouts and overstocking.
  • Optimize stock levels to reduce shortages and excess, leveraging data analytics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, secure the best commercial terms, and manage RFQs/RFPs, driving cost savings and process improvements.
  • Drive pricing strategy, leveraging insights and data to manage profitability and competitiveness, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitor portfolio KPIs (sales, margin, cost, service, stock) and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that drive business results.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive innovation, service, and cost efficiencies, while partnering with suppliers to deliver initiatives that create value and support customer needs.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years' senior procurement or purchasing management experience, ideally within retail/wholesale.
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiation, cost optimization, and relationship management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, leveraging tools like Microsoft Excel and purchasing platforms/ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
