Automated Manufacturing Equipment Specialist

The Staff Automation Engineer position involves serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for machine controls, sensors, and machine vision used in automated manufacturing and testing equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical knowledge and leadership in the areas of controls, sensor technologies, and various inspection systems used in automated manufacturing lines.
- Offer technical support to the improvement, installation, start-up, validation, and transfer of replicant automated manufacturing equipment relative to machine controls (hardware and software), sensors, and machine vision.
- Assess the efficacy, robustness, and reliability of controls, sensor, and inspection hardware/software solutions, proposing improvements where necessary to meet reliability, capacity, and quality targets.
- Coach and mentor junior controls engineers to enhance their skills and abilities.
- Provide technical expertise and oversee the resolution of technical issues related to controls, machine vision, servo systems, and various sensor technologies used in automated manufacturing and test equipment.
- Contribute to the design of new automation equipment in the area of expertise.
- Manage multiple automated manufacturing equipment projects simultaneously to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Develop and implement documentation related to equipment/automation, ensuring compliance with quality systems requirements.
- Implement a proactive approach to identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop mitigations for areas of responsibility.
