Manufacturing Maintenance Technician Job Summary

This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of electro/mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical support and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and troubleshoots electro/mechanical equipment failures using advanced troubleshooting techniques and tools.
  • Schedules and performs preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Collaborates with other departments to coordinate equipment repairs and ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation, including records of significant downtime issues and resolutions.
  • Communicates potential problems that may affect capacity and quality to the Business Unit Team Leader as well as across zones/work areas where necessary.
  • Attends pass-downs as required and provides status updates to stakeholders.
  • Provides detailed inputs into failed spare parts management process and supports Process Engineers to ensure Continuous Improvements are ongoing.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of the setup, operation, and maintenance of specific equipment sets used in manufacturing processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting/Problem solving skills, with ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Demonstrates a high level of technical ability, with hands-on approach to solving technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to achievement of manufacturing excellence, with ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • High level of flexibility, with ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 4 years+ experience as a Technician in a high volume automated environment.
  • Minimum Cert./Diploma/Senior Trades in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, Motor drives, pneumatic and hydraulic components is an advantage.
