Job Opportunity

Optum seeks an experienced AI/ML Engineering Director to lead the development of new products and services. This key member will partner with business stakeholders, data science teams, and technology teams to drive strategic platform build.

The team is responsible for building a pricing platform for prescription drug spend in the US Market annually. They use predictive models to optimize individual drug prices, ensuring value for clients and millions of people who fill prescriptions.

As a Director of AI/ML Engineering, you will oversee the completion of the platform build, taking development and accountability of a key new product in house. You will lead the scaling and build out of the key product, applying it to new business situations using a combination of AI and machine learning techniques.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the AI/ML CAT product team in Ireland
  2. Being a hands-on technical leader, actively contributing to model design, review, and critical technical decisions, and architecture
  3. Optimizing models for performance, scalability, and efficiency
  4. Taking research whitepapers to production and driving excellence and standardization across the data science team
  5. Managing the technical product owners and overseeing their relationships with business owners and scrum masters
  6. Coordinating software development and maintenance with the work of the Document Analysis team
  7. Taking primary ownership of the suite of data science and AI assets built within the team
  8. Providing strategic and technical direction aligned to analytic efforts around AI/ML
