Job Description

Highly experienced Lighting Artists are sought to join a creative team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional aesthetic eye, strong technical understanding of lighting systems in UE4/UE5 and an acute sense of colour, mood and composition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver AAA quality lighting solutions that respect project constraints.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors to achieve desired lighting and mood.
  • Apply advanced special effects such as fog, volumetrics, flares and camera effects.
  • Maintain consistent lighting across levels.
  • Implement post process effects like bloom, tone mapping and exposure.
  • Develop best practices, production pipelines and workflows.
  • Integrate with Level Designers and Environment Artists for enhanced narrative and gameplay.
  • Optimize work while balancing quality and performance.
  • Reference design documents for environment insights.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of gaming industry experience as real-time lighting artist on a AAA project.
  • Strong lighting understanding in real-time engines.
  • Exceptional eye for colour and composition.
  • Deep knowledge of light interactions with PBR materials and textures.
  • Ability to collaborate with disciplines to deliver concept-led lighting.
  • Excellent understanding of in-game lighting techniques and atmospheric effects.
  • Proficient in relevant 3D software (e.g., Maya, 3DS Max).
  • Superb problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
