Homeless and Social Inclusion Psychiatrist

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to work with the homeless population and deliver essential services in Cork City.

  • This is a key role within our multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality patient care and working closely with colleagues to achieve outstanding results.

The successful candidate will be appointed on the Public Only Consultant Contract 2023 and work 37 hours per week. This post may be subject to restructuring to facilitate the reorganization of acute services.

To be considered eligible applicants must:

  • Be registered as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialties of psychiatry.
  • Demonstrate expertise in investigation, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders in this specialist area of psychiatry.
  • Display evidence based clinical knowledge in making decisions regarding client care.
  • Demonstrate evidence of effective planning and organising skills.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and awareness and appreciation of the service user.
  • Demonstrate leadership and team management skills including the ability to work with multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Be eligible to work in Ireland.
