Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Retail Sales Assistant to join our team in Clondrohid. As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and providing expert advice on our products.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering best-in-class service to customers;
  • Dealing with customer queries in an efficient and professional manner;
  • Restocking display areas to ensure product availability at all times;
  • Maintaining the highest standards of store presentation and cleanliness;
  • Managing point-of-sale processes, including cash, card, and credit transactions;
  • Adhering to policies and procedures for the security of cash and merchandise;
  • Participating in regular stock-taking, including daily cycle counting and stock counts;
  • Working flexibly across a range of departments;
  • Product coding, pricing, and updating prices on goods for resale;
  • Adhering to all Society policies and procedures, Health and Safety procedures, and reporting any hazards to Branch Management.

As a successful candidate, you will have previous experience in a similar role, although this is not essential. Experience within the Agriculture sector or Builders provider/Hardware would be advantageous but not required.

You will demonstrate initiative and flexibility when required, possess good interpersonal and communication skills, and be a team player. You will also be prepared to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a strong customer focus.

  • Previous experience in a retail sales assistant role;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment;
  • Basic DIY knowledge and ability to learn;
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports;
  • Good basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling;
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
