Deputy Head of Procurement Job Description

This position plays a key role in the delivery of TII's procurement processes, ensuring compliance with EU directives and corporate guidelines.

  • Manage or support the delivery of major procurement processes, including OJEU level procurements.
  • Assist the Head of Procurement in leading the procurement team to achieve organisational goals.
About the Role

The Deputy Head of Procurement will be responsible for:

  • Managing a number of staff in the Procurement Section, with responsibility for Performance Management and Development.
  • Coordinating all procurements and updating staff with changes to EU and national procurement rules, guidelines, and practices.
  • Providing training and documentation on procurement procedures, proformas, and information on procurement issues.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have:

  • A third-level qualification in business, accountancy, law, procurement, engineering, quantity surveying, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum seven years' post-qualification experience in a procurement, legal, financial, commercial, engineering, or senior administrative role.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong demonstrable experience in a senior procurement role.
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of the EU Procurement directives and national procurement legislation.
