Electrical Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Galway, Ireland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all stages of product development from conceptual generation through to commercialisation of cutting edge medical devices.

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a highly innovative and rapidly growing world of therapeutic devices.

  • Contribute to developing products for use in minimally invasive therapeutic procedures as defined by business needs.
  • Interfacing with team members to optimise design and safety of the product by providing technical input.
  • Provide novel product design and development engineering support and input to research and development projects.
  • Design concepts and prototypes in advance of selecting the most promising solution.
  • Implement technologies to provide optimum design solution.
  • Plan and track elements of product development, new product introductions and technology transfers, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain product development and innovation processes and procedures incorporating industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop state-of-the-art understanding of relevant products and processes.
  • Develop product and test specifications.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses.
  • Serve as department technical resource in any area of expertise.
  • Proactively identify areas where process and product improvements can be made.
  • Develop predictive engineering tools, techniques and approaches to enhance product development process.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree level 8 in Engineering or related discipline with 5 years+ relevant experience.
  • Experienced with electrical medical device product development.
  • Ideally experienced designing RF systems, including PCB design and RF simulation tools.
  • Provides creativity while solving complex problems without known solutions.
  • Works on multiple projects in deadline driven environment.
  • Designs, runs, and gathers data for experiments.
  • Participates in the design of new test methods and procedures.
  • Self-starting, self-motivated, self-directed, and self-sufficient.
  • Thinks critically and makes sound decisions.
  • Collaborates and creates alignment as a team member.
  • Experience and knowledge in designing, verifying, optimizing processes within the organization to guarantee compliance.
  • Experience with statistical techniques (DOE, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and design control systems desirable but not essential.
  • Manages with transparency.
