
Professional Manager of Customs Compliance

A highly skilled and detail-oriented professional is sought to oversee and optimize customs operations across the business. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team that ensures full compliance with legislation while supporting efficient movement of goods throughout the supply chain.
Working in a fast-paced retail environment, you will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory authorities to drive strategic initiatives and deliver operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure Full Compliance — Oversee and manage all customs-related activities to ensure compliance with Irish and EU customs legislation, including import/export regulations, tariff classification, and origin rules.
- Lead Customs Strategy — Develop and implement efficient customs processes and controls that align with wider logistics and supply chain strategies.
- Liaise with Authorities & Stakeholders — Serve as the main point of contact for Revenue, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other regulatory bodies.
- Customs Declarations Oversight — Manage and review customs declarations and documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with contractual and legal obligations.
- Risk Management — Identify and mitigate potential customs and trade compliance risks through audits, training, and continuous improvement of internal procedures.
- Support Import Operations — Provide guidance on customs clearance processes for product imports, ensuring minimal delays and optimal duty recovery where applicable.
- Monitor Regulatory Changes — Stay up to date on changes in customs legislation and assess their potential impact on business operations.
Strong knowledge of Irish and EU customs regulations and relevant certification are essential. Advanced Excel skills and experience leading and performance managing a team of professionals are also required.
