Land Acquisition and Liaison Specialist

The Barnesmore Gap Greenway project offers a unique opportunity to work on the development and proposed site works of this exciting infrastructure project.

This role involves liaising with landowners and stakeholders on a daily basis, ensuring that all parties are informed and up-to-date throughout the project's planning and construction phases.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing landowner relationships is a key part of this role.
  • Securing access to land for surveys, understanding soil types and drainage requirements, and communicating information back to the project team.
  • Being the main point of contact for landowners during construction, handling issues such as land accesses, compensation claims, and drainage matters.

Requirements:

  • A qualification in Agriculture, Engineering, Construction, or a relevant discipline is required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience working on infrastructure projects as Landowner Liaison, Site Engineer, etc., preferably on road, rail, pipeline, or greenway projects.
  • Experience in planning and delivering linear projects from a land and consents perspective is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with agricultural practices and an understanding of land rights such as easements, leases, and freeholds would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of soil and drainage matters, as well as experience liaising with experts in various fields, is essential.
  • Solution-oriented individuals with experience dealing with challenging situations and building stakeholder relations are highly valued.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to engage effectively at multiple levels across an organization are necessary.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements at work and PPE requirements when working on construction sites is crucial.
  • A desire to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is mandatory.
  • A full driver's license and excellent communication skills are also required.
