Job Title: Claims Manager

This role involves working in collaboration with the leadership team to deliver high-quality, compliant and efficient claims handling.

The Claims Handler will manage mainly motor or non-motor property damage claims. Key responsibilities include providing information to customers regarding their eligibility, cover/benefits and terms and conditions, as well as updating them on the progress of their claim.

The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly to prioritize workflow appropriately and effectively, process incoming correspondence and documentation efficiently, and proactively review claims to determine what actions can be taken to progress them.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations, an understanding of general insurance business models and excellent investigation skills.

They will also be able to articulate complicated information clearly and accurately, listen effectively and demonstrate excellent written communication skills.

The role is a 'controlled function' requiring the company to complete prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee's fitness and probity.

AAPA qualified or grandfathered in the relevant specified function is required, along with two years experience handling similar type claims in an insurer or MGA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate information to customers regarding their eligibility, cover/benefits and terms and conditions.
  • Ensure that information provided to customers and third parties is correct, clear, complete and up-to-date.
  • Support a customer-centric approach where priorities are driven by customer needs.
  • Be flexible to meet the changing needs of the business in prioritizing workflow appropriately and effectively.
  • Process incoming correspondence and documentation efficiently within service level agreements and in line with relevant regulations.
  • Proactively review claims to determine what actions/steps can be taken to progress and follow up with relevant parties accordingly.
Requirements:
  • APA qualified or grandfathered in the relevant specified function as per MCC requirements.
  • Aptitude for learning and taking exams successfully with ability to progress to CIP qualification with ease.
  • Two years experience handling similar type claims in an insurer or MGA.
