Senior Environmental Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team. This role offers broad exposure across multiple areas within the environmental sector, including planning and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), waste management, infrastructure development, waste licensing and permitting, industrial emissions licensing, and environmental due diligence.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional to take on a leadership role in shaping our environmental strategy and contributing to business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs), Appropriate Assessments (AAs), planning application documents, and other environmental reports.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate EIAs, SEAs, AAs, planning application documents, and other environmental reports to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on environmental matters to support project teams and business operations.
  • Contribute to business development activities by identifying opportunities and developing proposals to secure new projects and clients.
  • Oversee and manage the process of securing necessary regulatory approvals for new projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in a relevant environmental discipline such as environmental science, ecology, or conservation biology.
  • At least 8 years post-graduate experience in an environmental role, preferably in a similar industry or sector.
  • Chartered status in a relevant professional field such as CEnv or CIWEM.
  • Strong knowledge of planning, environmental, and waste management legislation and regulations.
  • Proven experience in preparing reports, planning submissions, and license/permit applications across diverse projects.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent technical writing and report reviewing skills.
  • Experience in engaging with external stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and sub-contractors.
