Occupational Therapist Role

We are currently seeking a Basic Grade Occupational Therapist to join our occupational therapy team in a hospital setting. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced therapist to lead and manage an occupational therapy caseload.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for planning and delivering high standards of clinical care in occupational therapy, meeting local and national standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • ">
  • Clinical Care Planning: Ensure the highest standard of clinical care in occupational therapy is planned and delivered, meeting local and national standards.">
  • Assessment and Treatment: Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment/intervention programmes for residents and patients according to professional standards.">
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaboration with residents, family, carers, and other staff in goal setting and treatment/intervention planning.">
  • Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Participation in the multi-disciplinary/healthcare team and work in co-operation and collaboration with team members.">
  • Record Keeping: Maintenance of comprehensive clinical records of assessments, interventions carried out, and discussions relating to residents.">
  • Legislative Compliance: Provision of occupational therapy services within a legally compliant framework, ensuring efficient and effective services.">
  • Professional Development: Active membership of the Clinical Governance Committee and assistance in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans.">
  • Supervision: Receipt of monthly supervision from Senior Occupational Therapist.">

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Registration: Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.">
  • Education: Holding a degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification and eligibility for membership with the AOTI.">
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge and understanding of health, safety, and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organisation.">
  • Interpersonal Skills: Energetic team player with excellent interpersonal skills.">
  • IT Skills: Proficient IT skills.">
  • Approach and Attitude: Responsibility in approach and patient/resident friendly.">
  • Confidence and Persuasion: Self-confident, enthusiastic, and persuasive with an ability to influence and negotiate.">
