Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in a part-time permanent position.

The successful candidate will work with adults with intellectual disabilities and complex needs, including physical, sensory, and learning disabilities.

You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

You will have regular training, CPD, supervision, and career development.

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and review of occupational therapy programmes tailored to adults with intellectual disabilities.

  • Deliver needs-based, outcome-focused care guided by the Individual Support Plan (ISP).

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated care and goal setting.

  • Maintain professional standards in assessment, documentation, reporting, and service delivery.

  • Uphold best practice in line with relevant policies and standards.

  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice and the workplace.

Essential Requirements:

  • BSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent recognised qualification).

  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, at least 1 year working with adults with intellectual disabilities.

  • Proven track record of working with adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and complex needs.

  • Previous experience in leading, supervising, or mentoring junior Occupational Therapists, students, or support staff.

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload while ensuring high standards of assessment, intervention, and documentation.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant policies and standards.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with adults, families, and multidisciplinary team members

  • Full driving licence and access to a car.
