Research Associate - Mental Health Project

The Empowering a Mentally Healthy Generation (EmpowerME) project is a collaborative, evidence-based initiative aimed at addressing the rising mental health challenges among children in Malta and enhancing their overall well-being.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a pioneering research project focused on empowering a mentally healthy generation. As a Research Associate, you will be part of a dynamic team working to develop innovative solutions to address the mental health challenges faced by children in Malta.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in a specified programme of research under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator/Project Leader. They will also have access to appropriate training and professional development opportunities to develop research skills and competencies.

In this role, you will gain experience in grant writing, dissemination of research results, and publication processes. You will also become familiar with the broader research and scholarly activities of the research group, School or College.

To succeed in this position, you will need a PhD in a field of discipline relevant to the area of investigation, e.g., nursing, psychology, public health, social policy, or other health-related fields. The ability to travel to Malta for data collection and training delivery is essential. Experience in developing training materials, working on cross-cultural and/or international research, and design and delivery of training programs to diverse audiences are desirable.

We are seeking an individual who has experience working with children in structured settings, such as schools, clubs, or clinical settings. Knowledge of child safeguarding and child protection in the field of child participation is also essential.
