Senior Portfolio Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced portfolio specialist to join our team. As a senior portfolio specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing portfolio strategies and ensuring that credit recommendations are in line with regulatory codes to support borrowers in difficulty.

You will oversee the management of a portfolio of customers across personal, SME, corporate and property sectors, working collaboratively as part of a wider team to provide appropriate support in the management of the portfolio.

This is a permanent role, reporting to the portfolio manager, working on a hybrid basis. The role will afford you the opportunity to gain restructuring experience as well as enhancing your people, credit, regulatory and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managing inbound correspondence
  • Attending project calls and operational meetings for the purpose of reviews and other ad-hoc matters
  • Meeting and negotiating with borrowers in relation to debt settlement arrangements
  • Providing support to the wider team as required.
  • Connection level case management
  • Meeting and engaging with customers with effective management to progress objectives
  • Credit analysis, decision making, credit submissions and decision implementation
  • Proactive management of customers in line with agreed exit strategy at loan level, including litigation
  • Action CRM system appropriately to ensure accounts are at the correct status
  • Work closely with other members of the RM team
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Financial Advisor
  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
  • 5 years minimum experience in commercial debt management, restructuring or workout
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Commercial Relationship management experience essential
  • Ability to analyze company profit & loss statements and balance sheet
  • Confidence to assume responsibility and initiative
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, dashboards, data manipulation)
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills (presentation of financial results to clients / board of directors)
  • Excellent, in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the CCMA, CPC, SME and how to apply these through interactions with our customers
  • Full driving license, with access to a vehicle for work purposes
