Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Therapist to join our Mental Health Residential Suite on a full-time basis. As part of our award-winning team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering an engaging and stimulating activity programme that enhances the quality of life for our residents. This includes:

  • Designing and implementing a schedule of in-house entertainment, outings, and group activities that are mentally and physically stimulating for residents.
  • Collaborating with the Manager, staff, and residents to ensure activities align with their needs and interests.
  • Regularly gathering feedback from residents and incorporating their hobbies and interests into the activity programme.
  • Maintaining accurate records (both manually and electronically) of all activities and events.

The ideal candidate will have a good command of written and spoken English, the right to work and live in the UK, and experience working within a mental health environment. They should also have an understanding of current approaches to mental health practice and awareness of local services available.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  1. Activity Development: Design and implement a schedule of in-house entertainment, outings, and group activities that are mentally and physically stimulating for residents.
  2. Collaboration & Planning: Work closely with the Manager, staff, and residents to ensure activities align with their needs and interests.
  3. External Supplier Coordination: Obtain approval from the Manager before engaging external entertainers or service providers.
  4. Resident Engagement: Regularly gather feedback from residents and incorporate their hobbies and interests into the activity programme.
  5. Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records (both manually and electronically) of all activities and events.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a good command of written and spoken English, the right to work and live in the UK, and ability to work set hours. Experience working within a mental health environment and an understanding of current approaches to mental health practice and awareness of local services available are desirable criteria.
