Manufacturing Line Technician Job Opportunity

A manufacturing line technician is required to provide technical expertise and support processes within a manufacturing area.

The role requires the technician to resolve equipment issues, maintain optimal operation, and own downtime metrics for product yields.

  • Shift: Mid Shift 15:30pm – 12:00am (Monday – Thursday) and 14:15pm – 20:15pm (Friday), 39 hours weekly, with shift premium 20%.
  • Take ownership of technical performance and reliability of equipment, aiming for zero downtime through proactive management.
  • A continuous improvement mindset is essential, striving for excellence in a structured manner.
  • Evaluate equipment inputs/outputs to ensure optimal product performance, taking action before impacting uptime or yield.
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks on time and suggest improvements when found deficient.
  • Identify requirements for jigs/fixtures to improve workstation efficiency or yield, carrying through into manufacturing approval process with supporting data.
  • Ensure tooling availability and optimal working order, fit for purpose.
  • Maintain a sufficient Kanban and robust process for consumable equipment spares to minimize downtime.
  • Support new technician hires during onboarding when required.
  • Be competent in manufacturing products through all work steps and identify Accept and Reject samples for all steps, understanding intended use and impact of defects on functionality.
  • Review manufacturing process for improper application of work methods and equipment settings, continually identifying areas for improvement.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with Line Lead and Line Support regarding equipment and process issues, providing a clear resolution plan driven by data.
  • Support equipment introduction and complete/maintain accurate up-to-date documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Requires a Level 6 Higher Certificate or above in Engineering or equivalent, preferably Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical role, with demonstrated experience in automated equipment maintenance being an advantage.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex machine faults through electrical and pneumatic systems experience.
  • Highly motivated individual with good initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated process and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and GMP standards.
