
Gas Equipment Specialist

About the role:
This department is responsible for arranging maintenance, service, connection, and disconnection of all gas equipment on a customer's premises related to their LPG supply.
The purpose of this role is to monitor compliance on customer sites, aid in contractor development, assessment, and approval, offer technical expertise to customers, and assist the sales team with customer service issues.
This role will be field-based, generally covering south of the country, and will require periodic visits to designated main offices. A company vehicle will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality inspections on customer installations to verify installation compliance and safety according to best practice and Irish standards.
- Supporting sales staff on bulk vessels and cylinder siting, compliance, and risk assessments.
- Working with RGI contractors to offer high-level customer and installer support and technical/safety guidance.
- Performing contractor assessments and aiding in contractor development.
- Inspecting Flogas assets in the field, focusing on distribution systems, liquid installations, and vaporising equipment.
- Handling customer technical complaints.
- Representing the company at customer sites following gas-related incidents.
- Emergency response cover.
- Project supervision and management of projects on Flogas assets.
- Overseeing staff and contractor training.
- Aiding in continual improvement of equipment, systems, and processes.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate holds a third-level qualification in an engineering discipline or possesses significant engineering/construction experience. Experience as an RGI/GSR or gas fitter is desirable but not essential.
They have a working knowledge of pressurised systems and experience in contractor management and supervision. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive attitude towards customers, excel in high-pressure situations, balance priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
As a team player who can also work independently, they will take responsibility for checking and auditing work produced by others, showcasing a strong acumen for risk assessment and safety.
Additionally, they possess excellent communication and networking skills, enabling them to build strong relationships and manage stakeholder interactions effectively.
