
Communications Specialist for Multidisciplinary Teams

Job Description
The role of a Communications Specialist involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with communication difficulties. The specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing individualised programmes to address the unique needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the root causes of communication difficulties, and design targeted interventions to improve communication skills.
- Clinical Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional standards, ensuring that all relevant information is recorded and easily accessible.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans, and contribute to the continuous improvement of services.
- Service Development: Participate in service audits, evaluation, and quality improvement projects, contributing to the development of policies, protocols, and resources to enhance service delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy approved by CORU.
- Experience working with children with communication difficulties, preferably in a paediatric setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and other healthcare professionals.
