Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with complex disabilities and developmental needs.
About the Role:
The Child Development Specialist will play a key role in developing and delivering evidence-based interventions to support children with behavioural, social, and emotional challenges. They will work closely with children, families, and the wider interdisciplinary team to promote participation and improve quality of life.
Key Responsibilities of the Child Development Specialist:
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments and design individualised intervention plans
- Deliver one-to-one and group-based therapy sessions
- Work collaboratively with team members including psychologists, occupational therapists, SLTs, social workers, and physiotherapists
- Provide training and support to families, caregivers, and educational staff
- Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust interventions as needed
- Participate in case reviews, service planning, and quality improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements:
- A recognised qualification in Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), or a related discipline
- Experience working with children with autism and/or intellectual disabilities
- Strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and other evidence-based approaches
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
- A compassionate approach to care
