This role offers a challenging opportunity to lead the fabrication team, overseeing the effective planning and completion of fabrication and assembly works.

As Workshop Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery to site in accordance with the projected installation plan. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality outputs that meet contractual requirements. To achieve this, you will develop fabrication priority plans, implement them with the workshop team, and regularly review workforce activity for efficiency.

A key aspect of this role is safety management. You will ensure compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS), complete toolbox talks, inductions, and training coordination. Additionally, you will facilitate waste management – segregation and disposal, support energy management/optimisation initiatives, and oversee consumables stock levels.

To succeed in this position, you will need to possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You should also have analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a high level of organization. A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities
  • Safety: Compliance with SMS; ensure safety documents are in place.
  • Environmental: Ensure facility compliance with EMS; manage waste and consumables.
  • Quality: Adherence to contract-specific quality plans and ITPs; ensure incoming inspection of materials.
  • Planning: Develop fabrication priority plans; coordinate shipments and communicate progress.
  • People: Resource planning including staff and holidays; day-to-day craft management via line supervision.
  • Facilities: Oversee building certifications and maintenance; maintain building security and access control.
Qualifications
  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Navisworks or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant workshop experience (preferably in process industry piping and stainless steel fabrication).
